The Family Space Explorers (FSE) CPD will enable teachers, teaching assistants and play-workers of children in EYFS to support family learning within their schools.
The FSE project is running in community centres across the North East and has enabled families to come together and support their young children’s joy of reading alongside an exploration of the wonders of space. In each of two sessions, families shared read a story related to space and then complete science activities which compliment the books.
In this CPD session, participants will:
- Learn about the Family Space Explorers programme
- Receive the training to enable them to link science activities to young children’s fiction
- Plan and prepare their own family learning session to deliver in school
- Learn strategies for targeting ‘harder to reach’ parents
