Physics teacher and long-time NUSTEM collaborator Alom Shaha has a new family science activity book out. It’s called Mr Shaha’s Recipes for Wonder and it’s just marvellous. As with everything Alom does it’s smart, subtle in the detail, and thoroughly delightful.
As part of his book tour he’s giving a talk at Seven Stories. Expect demonstrations, but more importantly an introduction to Alom’s thinking about how parents can be their children’s first science teachers, and why it doesn’t matter how much you know when you start.
This is one of very few talks he’s giving – the others are at the Royal Institution in London, Cheltenham Science Festival, and occasional book festivals even further afield. So don’t miss this chance to see Alom do his thing!
No visitor centre admission required: tickets for the talk £3 per person (including children). A 45-minute performance suitable for children aged 5-9 and their families.
