Twilight unconscious bias CPD for teachers in the North-East of England, offered by the Institute of Physics.
Our brains have to process vast amounts of information, so unsurprisingly they have to take shortcuts. However, these shortcuts can lead to us treating people differently: without even realising it, we can present different expectations of different groups, or entrench rather than dispel stereotypes.
In this session we’ll explore the range of unconscious biases, and what we can do about them. It is suitable for all primary and secondary school staff, but may be of particular interest to teachers and school leaders.
