Kenton Bar Primary School

Hello Kenton Bar, we’re NUSTEM. We’re based at Northumbria University, and we work across the region supporting children, families and teachers in exploring science, technology, engineering and maths. We’re particularly keen to help people recognise that careers in these STEM subjects are available to them.

27th January Year 1 Systems Engineers

This afternoon the Year 1 classes became systems engineers. They planned, created, tested and improved marble run. To find ways to be a systems engineer at home, visit our Systems Engineer webpage.

25th January Year 2 Materials Scientists

materialsToday Year 2 children became materials scientists and investigated materials using weight, electricity and magnets. Why not investigate how strong the materials in your home are by trying our NUSTEM at home Bridge Building activity?

Tuesday 18th January Reception Glaciologists

Today Reception children became Glaciologists and investigated melting ice. Why not try our NUSTEM melting ice activity at home? All you need is some ice cubes and bowls to put them in.
