We’ve two PhD projects available at NUSTEM’s host institution, Northumbria University. Both are connected to the project, and only modesty prevents us from using words like ‘exciting’ and ‘opportunity’ to describe them.

1. Impact of academic research through NUSTEM (formerly Think Physics) on the uptake of STEM by young people

This project will concentrate on evaluating the impact of the use of academic research and expertise within the NUSTEM project. It will explore how links to academia can impact on young people, their interests, and the uptake of STEM careers.

2. Evaluation of targeted digital engagement on the uptake of STEM by young people

Concentrating on evaluating the impact of the digital presence created as part of NUSTEM (formerly Think Physics), this project will examine established best practice in evaluating online engagement activity. It will then design and implement an evaluation strategy to suit NUSTEM as it develops.

Both projects may offer support for fees and a stipend on a competitive basis, and are available to candidates worldwide. To apply for either project or for contact details for more information, follow the links above.
