Imagining the Sun at Lit & Phil

On the 17th of January 2018 the Lit & Phil are hosting a schools workshop based around the Imagining the Sun project: a collaboration of a poet, a sound artist and a visual artist with Northumbria University’s solar physics research group, supported by outreach specialists. During this event students will learn about the Sun from one of Northumbria University’s solar physicists, exploring its awesome scale and the range of light it produces. Family Space Explorers EYFS CPD Event

The Family Space Explorers (FSE) CPD will enable teachers, teaching assistants and play-workers of children in EYFS to support family learning within their schools. The FSE project is running in community centres across the North East and has enabled families to come together and support their young children's joy of reading alongside an exploration of the wonders of space. In each of two sessions, families shared read a story related to space and then complete science activities which compliment the books.…
