2016–17 course delivered by Think Physics and the Centre for Life
These pages are designed to support the Astronomy GCSE course we’re delivering with the Centre for Life in 2016/17. We’re sorry, but the course has been tremendously popular and is (very!) full. We regret that numbers are limited, and we can’t take more students at this stage.
For those of you who we could accept: welcome! We look forward to spending Wednesday afternoons with you over the next academic year.
The textbook that we’ll be using on a Wednesday is GCSE Astronomy: A guide for Pupils and Teachers” by Nigel Marshall. ISBN: 9780953634576. Google Books page here (see links in left sidebar for retailers)
You can also access the online textbook and other resources at Starlearner.com using the secret password we shared with you in the course sessions.
You can use the robotic telescope from the National Schools Observatory (based at Liverpool John Moores University) to take photographs of galactic objects.
