Esh Winning Primary School

Hello Esh Winning, we’re NUSTEM. We’re based at Northumbria University, and we work across the region supporting children, families and teachers in exploring science, technology, engineering and maths. We’re particularly keen to help people recognise that careers in these STEM subjects are available to them.

On this page you’ll find a summary of the things we’ve done with your school, and links to follow-up activities you can do at home.

February 22: Magnets

Joe has been in today investigating magnets with Reception.

You’ll now know the types of materials that magnets stick to and you’ll have explored the classroom for magnetic objects. You’ll also have used lots of different types of magnets and have brought home a Think Physics fridge magnet!

For a reminder of what you did, see our magnets activity page.

16 October: Bubbles and Botany

Plants 13

Today I’ve been busy at Esh Winning Primary School.

This morning began with an exploration of bubbles with Reception. Find out what we did by clicking here.

This afternoon Y3 became brilliant botanists and you can find out all about it by clicking here.

We’ll be back at Esh Winning soon!

1st July: Explore Your Universe

Today we’ve been exploring the universe at Esh Winning school. The Year 6s have taken a journey from atoms to astrophysics from the comfort of their school hall. You can see some of our infra-red selfies below!
